Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is our summer outreach to our community and for children who attend our church. It is typically held for four or five consecutive evenings in August for children four years old through those entering the fifth grade in the fall. It includes an opening with music and skits that go with the biblical theme being presented; an offering is also taken for a missions project. Following this, there is a craft, games, and snacks. Special efforts are taken to make this a memorable experience for children.
This year, our theme is Babylon: Daniel’s Courage in Captivity. Daniel was way more than the guy who survived a den of hungry lions! Come with us as we travel back to Babylon and join Daniel–torn from his home and forced into the king’s service. Imagine the pressure of learning a new language and culture…and the shock of discovering that your best friends have been tossed into a fiery furnace. We will explore exotic sights and smells in a Babylonian bazaar! Kids and adults will find that they’re not much different from Daniel and his friends, who kept their faith in a faithless culture.
