New Here?

If you're new to Avon Community Church, welcome. We're glad you're here.

Whether you have been following Jesus for many years or you are simply curious about faith, Avon Community Church is a place where you can explore, grow, and connect with others. Our desire is to be a community that loves Christ, loves others, and serves in love.

You do not need to have everything figured out before visiting. People from many different backgrounds come together here with one common goal: seeking God and growing in faith together.

What to Expect

Our service includes worship through music, prayer, Scripture, and a Bible-based sermon. Most people dress casually, with jeans, boots, hoodies, and flannels are common but feel free to dress up if that’s more comfortable for you. The atmosphere is a friendly, small-town, and family-focused. Warm greetings, real people, and room for you.

when you arrive

Enter the door on the South side of our lot. It is the only one with an overhang. Expect to be greeted!  Our ushers at the door wear name tags  and will gladly point you in the right direction. We have coffee and treats inside too.

Kids program

Our Children’s Ministry provides a fun, safe, and loving environment where kids can learn about Jesus and grow in their faith. Through age-appropriate lessons, activities, and friendships, we help children discover God’s love and truth.

class options

During the Sunday School hour we serve kids ages 0-12th grade in nursery and classrooms throughout the building.  During the service, nursery is available for 0-3 year olds, and 4-5 year olds are dismissed for children’s church after worship. “Busy Bags” are also available for kids to use during the service; they are located in the back right corner of the sanctuary.

check in process

For any child in kindergarten or younger, find check-in stickers at the welcome table in the main foyer, or on the buffet table near the nursery.  Please fill out all blanks on the check-in sticker, and stick it onto your child’s back before drop-off.  Keep the other half of the sticker; the number on it will be matched to your child’s sticker for a safe pickup.

communication

Parents of children in nursery will be given a pager. If this vibrates and flashes, please return to the nursery to attend to your child.  Parents of children in kids’ church will be texted or retrieved by a volunteer if needed.  Keep your phone close and on vibrate, just in case.

Love Christ, Love Others, Serve in Love

Our church is built on several core values that shape how we live out our faith together. We seek to be Christ-centered, grounded in the Bible, guided by prayer, led by the Spirit, and focused on serving our community.

Avon Community Church is non-denominational, which means we are not connected to a

specific denomination like Catholic, Methodist, or Lutheran.

"Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much."

James 5:16 NASB
